Call of Duty 4 Perk Combinations
Customize your class

Perks and gun combinations can be the strongest advantage attributed to players when dominating the online arena. Choosing the right gun perk combinations for your style of play is essential, but what combination should you pick? Well, it all comes down to your style of play and your skills. Picking the perks that mirror your style of play will turn you into a finely tuned piece of warfare. What perks and guns you choose to take online with you really comes down to your own personal preferences, some of the call of duty 4 perk combinations on this page may differ from your own combinations and your style of play , it is a rough guide to some perk combinations that have been useful .

****Note****
Equipping the Grenade Launcher or Front Grip attachments will prevent you from having a perk from Group #1

All round M16

I find this to be the all round best combination. Stopping power with the M16 means this setup is immensely powerful, very accurate and deep impact allows you to cause serious damage to anyone behind a wall.  If youre in a sticky situation you have 3 grenades at your disposal to top it off. If the opposition is giving me a hard time and my other chosen setups are not working then I will revert back to this and 9 times out of 10 it works. The only flaw with this setup is youre very visible, substituting deep impact for Dead silence can help if youre in close quarters combat or sweeping buildings. You can pull off some great long shots with this too, I find I do really well this on Backlot by moving through cover and picking people off with 1-2 bursts. In Hardcore modes you could even substitute stopping power for double tap or UAV jammer.

Gun: M16 - Red dot sight

Pistol: Deagle

Perk 1: 3 Frag grenades

Perk 2: Stopping power

Perk 3: Deep Impact

Sweeper

This combination can be bags of fun if you like to hide in dark corners and silently kill your foe like a ninja or some other silent killing thing! I’ve used this very successfully on the map Bloc but it can be used for others too. The sweeper is most dangerous when used on hardcore since the map is not always available (and the reduced health means less hits to kill). The idea is to use these perk/gun combos to catch people off guard, you will want to get the drop on them EVERY time and the perks make this so easy. Bloc is the perfect example for this setup. For instance there is a room with a mattress, its a very dark room near one of the entrances round the side of it and provides the perfect place for an ambush. I would storm the building silently thanks to dead silence, usually catching one or two off guard who are trying to snipe and then quickly plant my claymores in suitable places(usually places a guy looking for a revenge kill would trip them) . There is some really dark corners in this room and the sub machine gun outfit is perfectly suited to blending you into the darkness. Now, lay low and listen, its a popular route but not many people bother to check the room, they just run straight through it. You will hear footsteps so be ready, this is the time to use your initiative, when you see the guy dont start firing straight away, if hes moving sluggishly wait till hes got his back to you then rush him from behind. Even if you dont kill him straight away, begin to strafe, the combination of your speed and the silenced P90 will have him dazed and he will be down seconds later. Theres been times a guy has walked right over to me, crouched down and started looking at the door! So use your knife instead of drawing attention to yourself by shooting. This setup really is about stealth and intelligent killing.

Now at this point, if youve killed 1-3 guys they will be mouthing you off and there will be revenge killers out for your blood. By this time I use my surroundings and especially, dead silence. Stay close to the doors, do NOT stay where you were the first time you killed the guy and listen. If you hear where the guy is coming from then sprint to the closest wall to the door he's coming from or trick him into thinking youre in the same spot. A good tactic is to throw a grenade towards him, bounce it round the corner but then get as close to that corner as possible, he will think youve retreated because he can't hear you and you threw a grenade. Sprinting across rooms and not being heard is the best ambush tactic you can have. He will burst into the room and youll have the drop on him again, magic! Remember to always change positions, I usually vacate after this and try to ambush one of the revenge killers on the route they use to get to the previous room. You can keep doing this, it works a treat and is a hell of a lot of fun, mainly because you're completely outsmarting the opposition. There are a few variations to this perk combination, it can be tweaked in several ways but this is the base setup which will have the opposition coming back for more(literally!) .

Gun: P90 Silenced

Pistol : Deagle or silenced pistol ( doesn’t really matter)

Perk 1: Claymores

Perk 3: Stopping power If you’re really confident with the p90 use UAV Jammer instead

Perk 3: Dead Silence Invaluable to this class

Hardcore All Round

This is another all round class which I believe is more suited to hardcore than the M16 all round class. You can use this with the M4 or the G36C but I prefer the G36C. You can pretty much take this class out and start your kill streak, its simple and it works. The G36Cs rate of fire, accuracy and spray - ability(is that even a word?) will make you hot under the collar. Last stand can get you those match winning kills when you get caught off guard and the frag grenades can save your ass when youre under fire. The downside to this is it doesnt do well shooting through walls, you really need to have the guy in the open or close up to get a damaging shot off. Range doesnt do too well either although I have had some decent headshots with concentrated fire. Sometimes I like to substitute last stand for dead silence in maps like Vacant where not being heard running through corridors is invaluable.

Gun: G36C Red dot sight

Pistol: Deagle

Perk 1: 3 Frag Grenades

Perk 2: Stopping power

Perk 3: Last stand

RPD Powerhouse

I made this class when I was having a hard time on Vacant one time, the opposition was totally outgunning us and any attempt to rush was met with fierce concentrated fire. The solution was to act like a support role, I would run and gun but sit back slightly and use my radar to its full extent. The enemy was basically gunning us down every time we came into view, they were extremely fast so I used the RPD/perks to make this class to provide me with enough firepower to lay low and mow people down through the thin walls on Vacant and spray the corners as I heard the enemy coming towards me. I found this class to be quite useful, if youre running out of options this can help turn the tide when you catch a few people off guard through some walls, a good spray can really suppress the enemy. In practice it worked well to an extent but I’m no expert with LMGs, I know a few people who do very well with this setup though.

Gun: RPD With Grip

Pistol: Deagle

Perk 1: Grip cancels this perk

Perk 2: Stopping Power

Perk 3: Deep Impact

Hardcore Sniper

This is my favourite class for Hardcore matches. I have a friend who uses the same setup and we would completely dominate games by holding a sniping position together. The best way to play this class is to seek out the best places to snipe from then lay in wait, setup some claymores to cover your back, its even better if you have a friend to work with you. Look at your surroundings, look for the best places to plant claymores, the places where a revenge killer will come from, If you hear a guy coming for you sprint towards him or move quickly to a place he wont expect you to be, with dead silence he wont hear you and he won't expect you to pull out a G36C. Like the sweeper, it's about intelligent play, outsmarting the opposition. The main point about this style of play and setup is covering your back, you gotta be Johnny on the spot checking for the enemy, checking the map, listening for footsteps. If you can cover your back good enough then all you have to worry about is lining up the killer sniper shots. The great thing about this setup though is that you get just as many kills from the revenge killers as you do from sniping across the map, if not more! You have to learn to expect the enemy to come after you, even bait them into it, that will turn your weaknesses into strengths and is why this class is possibly the best class there is. One more thing, always choose a sniper gun as your first weapon, this allows you to have the gullies suit :).

Gun: Any Sniper weapon, I prefer M21 since the patch

2nd Gun: G36C

Perk 1: Claymores

Perk 2: Overkill

Perk 3: Dead Silence
